CHAPTER SIX

They walked back to the cabin together in silence. Lana didn't resist as Danny reached over and took her hand in his. His touch was a welcome distraction to the barrage of thoughts going through her head at that moment. She moved through the afternoon almost as if it were a dream.

His words kept echoing through her head, how he'd wanted to take her over his knee. It terrified her and excited her all in one. The persistent throbbing between her legs made her aware that it totally turned her on as well. He was only being playful but he had no idea how much just the mention of doing something a little kinky with him had made her feel. She tried to imagine getting away with such a thing at the cabin but it would be difficult to pull off without being heard. With a sinking realization, she knew she should have pushed him to follow through while they were at the lake, even at the risk of being late and raising Meg's suspicions. Inevitably, it would have led to more incredible sex but that was not something Lana could complain about.

They stepped into the cabin to the welcoming smell of food as Meg was in the kitchen preparing dinner. Lana's stomach grumbled in response as she realized how much the afternoon's activities had managed to work up her appetite.

"So how did things go?" Meg asked as they walked in and started putting down their gear. “Catch anything?”

Lana glanced at Danny feeling a surge of panic seize her, which she tried to disguise with a smile.

"We caught one fish but threw it back. It was nice," Lana said.

It was the most erotic experience of her life. She'd never think of fishing the same way again.

"Yeah, beautiful lake you have out there," Danny added, "I can see why you have such fond memories of it. I wouldn't mind spending more time there." His eyes locked with Lana as he added the last part and she felt the tingling inside her as his eyes grazed her taut nipples which she could feel pressing against her shirt.

Meg walked over and put her arms over Danny's neck, pulling him close. She planted a tender kiss on his cheek while Lana felt her blood begin to boil at the sight of it. She wanted to say something but it was a good reminder of the fact that she had no real claim over Danny. He would never truly be hers.

To make matters worse, Danny did nothing to resist the sudden display of affection. As a matter of fact, he almost seemed to enjoy it. He looked back at Meg with surprise and a hint of something that Lana couldn't place. How could she possibly compete with the history between them? They'd known each other for years. Lana was nothing more than a diversion from an otherwise boring weekend.

"I think I'm going to take a shower before dinner," Lana said as she excused herself from the room without looking back.
